Drew was a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, studying economics and business with his sights set on law school. Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he was a proud Tar Heel, just like his grandfather before him.
By twenty he had visited all fifty states, lived two and a half years in Australia, and made friends nearly everywhere he went. He loved baseball, tennis, and golf, especially rounds with his dad. He cheered for the Heels, the Panthers, and the Hurricanes. He took his mom out for BLTs at Merritt’s and played Rummikub with her, and he played Mario Kart and Smash Bros. with his sisters, Abigail and Emily.
His Catholic faith guided him from St. Pius X in Greensboro, where he served as an altar server, to the Newman Center in Chapel Hill. Most of all, Drew is remembered for his kindness and warmth, and for making everyone around him feel welcome.
